Privacy Policy for Sweep: Hidden Camera Detector
Last updated: 23 August 2026
Who we are
Sweep: Hidden Camera Detector (“the app”) is published by LemonCherry Apps. Contact: sweep.lemoncherry@gmail.com.
The short version
The app runs its scans entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your scan results, and we do not have accounts or servers that receive your data. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the ads that keep the free version free.
Permissions and why the app needs them
- Camera: powers the Infrared Viewer and Lens Glint Finder. The camera preview is displayed on your screen in real time and is not recorded. With the Pro upgrade, tapping “Tag” saves a single still frame together with that tag, in the app’s private storage on your device only (at most 20 per scan). Free users never have a frame saved. The app does not request microphone access.
- Location: Android requires the location permission for any app that inspects Wi-Fi network details. The app uses it solely to scan your local network for devices. The app does not collect, store, or transmit your geographic location.
- Wi-Fi / network state: used to list devices on the network you are connected to, so possible networked cameras can be flagged.
- Bluetooth: the Radios check scans for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements and lists them by signal strength so you can walk toward the strongest. The app never connects to or pairs with a device, does not use Bluetooth for location, and stores only the spot you choose to tag (not device identifiers).
- Nearby Wi-Fi networks: the Radios check lists the networks around you by signal strength. Network names are shown on screen and not stored unless they appear in a tag you make.
- Sensors (magnetometer): used for the magnetic field readings. Sensor values are shown live and are not retained after a sweep.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps, in its private storage on your device only:
- your device-capability results and settings;
- the summaries of your most recent scans (up to 10 are stored; the free version shows the last one, Pro shows all ten), including tagged spots, optional room labels you type, the list of network devices found, and, for Pro, the photos saved with tags.
Nothing is uploaded. You can delete any stored scan, or all of them, from Settings → Scan history; deleting a scan also deletes its photos. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
Sharing a report
A report leaves your device only when you choose “Email report” or “Share” on a summary. The app hands the text (and, for Pro, the photos) to the mail or sharing app you pick; it never sends anything itself and never sees the address you send it to.
Purchases
The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play Billing. The app receives only a purchase confirmation from Google Play; it does not see or store your payment details.
Advertising
The free version displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and its advertising data disclosures (https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543). Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), the app presents a consent form through Google’s User Messaging Platform before serving personalised ads, and you can change your choice later in the app’s settings. Purchasing the ad-free version stops ad requests.
Children
The app is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country).
What this app does not do
It does not create an account, does not require sign-in, does not upload scan results, does not track you across other apps, and does not sell data.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
